After nearly thirty years  serving in Hawaii churches, my husband and I moved to Bedford, Virginia.  While in Oahu, I taught English literature, drama, music, and writing in the following schools: Ahuimanu (public school), Christian Academy (MS and HS) and Lutheran High School. I also taught homeschool students in those same subjects for well over a decade. I was the Drama Director for my church for nearly twenty years, and published several drama sketches with National Drama Service, and a drama curriculum for homeschoolers (as an e-book) called The Drama Club.

As the wife of a retired pastor, I teach from a Christian perspective. Assignments are high interest and classroom tested. Classes are positive, uplifting, and encouraging.  Most courses include dramatic and creative elements designed to help students retain information and stimulate originality.  I emphasize critical thinking, and help students develop the facility with words necessary for them to articulate what they feel, think, and believe.

I invite you to look at the Writing Curriculum, and Literature Sections of this website to see what classes are being offered at Bedford Presbyterian Church during the 2016-2017 school year.  (These can be modified depending upon the interests of parents.) Please read the testimonials to see what past students and parents have said.

By the way, I have published two novels, which have garnered good reviews. Random Souls was published through Westbow Press, a division of Thomas Nelson, and A Little Song, A Little Dance, was published as an e-book.  Both are available through Amazon. In addition, I am nearly finished writing a quartet of historical novels which, hopefully, will be available soon.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at  if you have any questions. I would love to hear from you.
